Fifth Grade Discipline Plan
-Homework/Missing assignments
Students will receive a “Homework Not Done” slip for the assignment that is late or missing. These slips need to be signed by the parents and returned the next day along with the assignment. If the assignment is not returned the next day, that is another “Homework Not Done” slip. If the “Homework Not Done” slip is not signed or returned the following day they will also receive another slip for that. Once the student receives three “Homework Not Done” slips in one week, they will receive a detention.
-Tickets
Students will receive ticket(s) for excellent behavior, respectfulness, and any other behavior that the teacher would like to reward.
Students will have tickets taken away for forgetting something essential for class (pencil, folder, book, etc.) Students can also have tickets taken away for inappropriate behavior or other circumstances where taking a ticket is appropriate. Tickets will be turned in every other Friday and a drawing will be held in each homeroom for prizes.
In addition, in Ms. Huey’s class each student has a pocket with his/her number on it. Basically it is a “3 strike and you are out” system for minor infractions. Colored cards are pulled as a warning system. When the red card appears, an appropriate consequence occurs.
